Framed Collectible Bird Card from the 1930's (Yellow-breasted Chat)

$18.00
Sold

This card series titled, “Useful Birds of America,” was distributed by Church & Dwight, Co. through their “Arm & Hammer” baking soda brand (essentially there was an advert on the package of baking soda and you mailed-in for them). These were made in in the 1930’s and featured well-known artists. This card, featuring the Yellow-breasted Chat, was done by Mary Emily Eaton (see initials “M.E. Eaton on bottom left of the card) who was a famous British botanical artist at the time. She lived from 1873-1961. The card itself is in excellent vintage condition. The card is set against black paper and sits in a tiny vintage gold metal frame. The frame appears quite old and the glass is slightly convex (you can see this a little in the last picture). The easel stand is missing but this can be hung on the wall using the cute articulating hook attached to the top. Love!

Dimensions [frame is 3.5” across x 4.5” tall; card is 1.5” across x 2.25” tall]
